Based on the award-winning Danish film ‘The Celebration’. A family gather to celebrate their Father’s 60th birthday in the wake of a bereavement, a dinner party where the past shows its face in the form of violent accusations. A dark comedy that balances the horror of what has happened with the moral facades put up to conceal the truth.

In July 2018, Play Dead Theatre will bring a truly unique experience to Melbourne; a site specific theatre production of David Eldridge’s play FESTEN. Performances will be held within the estates Ballroom. The Rippon Lea Ballroom impressive turn-of-the century interior and high ceilings with chandelier, offers an exceptional space to immerse Melbourne audiences into the world of the play, making them feel like they are intruding on this family affair.

A Play by Stephen Belber

TAPE is a fast-paced, unpredictable psychological drama about the underlying love-hate relationship that exists between true friends.

A modern morality tale, TAPE is about three old friends battling over the truth of an event that’s haunted them for years. In the course of an hour, in one hotel room, secrets are revealed and alliances altered, but the truth is illusive … even when it’s on TAPE.
